Goessel Threshing Days
Start: Aug 7 2009
End: Aug 10 2009
Goessel's Threshing Days is an old-fashioned threshing demonstration and show full of entertainment and education from musical groups to storytellers about the "good old days". Visitors will enjoy ethnic food such as verenike, zwiebach, sausage, bierochs and cherry moos, as well as hamburgers, sandwiches, homemade ice cream and funnel cakes. Visitors can step into the past with a tour of the museum complex which consists of eight buildings, including the Immigrant House and the Turkey Red Wheat Palace. Six historic buildings from the Community have been moved to the museum for preservation and restoration. More than 100 exhibitors from a 7-state area will display and demonstrate antique equipment related to farming during the past century. Each year a specific type of equipment is featured.
