A piece of the precious Kansas Flint Hills; where you can experience wildlife, history and ranching at your leisure. In 1995 the Bolton family donated 640 acres of land that you can see a variety of trees, animals, and creeks through the wild trust program. There is burning of the grasslands and rotational grazing with cattle from May through July. The area contains several different ecosystems. The following animals are common to the area: white-tail deer, rabbits, squirrels, coyotes, prairie chickens, quail, turkey, possum and raccoons. The Oregon Trail ran near the Eastern edge of the property. The old military trail that connected Ft. Leavenworth and Ft. Riley can still be observed today by looking at the wagon ruts left behind from years ago. Hunting, trapping, and fishing are allowed on this land with permission. Camping, off-road vehicle use, horse riding and target shooting is prohibited. Manager: James Hulbert
